This section is dedicated to "Pitching", specifically your idea(s) to a TV network or production company.

Generally speaking, "Pitching" is done only in a very tightly knit network of industry insiders. Producers and Networks will generally not accept unsolicited pitches from "outsiders", for the fear that some "outsider" will sue that Producer or Network, if that Producer or Network ever does develop a show that is even remotely similar to what the "oustider" earlier pitched... whether or not that Producer or Network had already been developing that same idea before the "outsider" pitched it to them.

For example, CBS specifically states:

"CBS does not accept or consider creative ideas, suggestions or materials other than those CBS has specifically requested. This is to avoid the possibility of future misunderstandings when projects developed by CBS's staff might seem to others to be similar to their own creative ideas, suggestions or materials."
