NATIONAL FILM PRESERVATION BOARD.

Established by the National Film Preservation Act of 1988 (Public Law 100-446), the National Film Preservation Board was reauthorized in 1992 for four years (Public Law 102-307), and again in 1996 for an additional seven years (Public Law 104-285). The law also creates the federally-chartered private sector National Film Preservation Foundation.

THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FILM ARCHIVES.

FIAF, the International Federation of Film Archives, brings together the world's leading institutions in the field of moving picture heritage.

Its affiliates are the defenders of the Twentieth Century's own art form. They are dedicated to the rescue, collection, preservation and screening of moving images, which are valued both as works of art and culture and as historical documents. When it was founded in 1938, FIAF had 4 members. Today it comprises more than 120 institutions in over 65 countries - a reflection of the extent to which preservation of moving image heritage has become a world-wide concern.

TANHOUSER.

Thanhouser Company Film Preservation, Inc., is a non- profit 501(c)(3) organization involved in the research, acquisition, preservation and publication of educational materials related to the early silent motion picture era, with a specific focus on the Thanhouser film enterprise

From its founding in 1909 through 1917, Thanhouser Company, and its successor company, Mutual's Thanhouser Film Corporation, produced and released over 1,000 silent films to worldwide distribution.

UCLA FILM AND TELEVISION ARCHIVE.

A unique resource for media study, the Archive constitutes one of the largest collections of media materials in the United States - second only to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. - and the largest of any university in the world. Its vaults hold more than 220,000 motion picture and television titles and 27 million feet of newsreel footage. The combined collections represent an all-encompassing documentation of the 20th century.
